More Random thoughts for the week...

and its only Wednesday ;-)

1. Seniors!  We are still booking senior photo shoots for '09.  Ya know, we have a slacker package for those of you who waited till the last minute.  My philosophy, better late than never.
2. and thinking of that...I was putting the kids in the car this morning, when I was informed by my daughter that it was "pastries for parents," and umm...I was talking them to school in my pj's ;-)  oh what can I say, but change of plans ;-)
3. Ok...so after woofing down a pastry I decided I need to seriously have someone or something help me with getting the baby weight off.  So I dropped by the office of Dr. Rogers, b/c darn it...I am starting TODAY...Change of plans again...she is on maternity leave!
4. I am out of town next week...So I am already feeling extreme "mommy" guilt.  This is the longest I have ever left devin.  For some reason, I am fine with 4 days and under, but 5...sends me over the edge!
5. Things I am thinking about for the summer.  hmmm...I was thinking maybe so photoshop classes, fun, themed shoots.  Anything to stay cool!
6. Have any old maternity clothes...BLOOM is collecting them for Seton Home from now until May 9th.
7. I am the midst of a build-a-bear party Plan-a-thon. 
8. Oh, thinking about this summer, I really want to do something to honor barney...so I plan on having a pets and people special ;-)
9. Hmmm I really think since I am at #9, I Should continue to 10!
10. I hope to post a photo of the band I photographed last week.  If you were a child of the '80's...chances are they will play music you recognize.  (oh, I am having bad flashbacks of REALLY big HAIR!
11. oh and one last think...terri, you are just too funny, I find your conversation enlightening and really I hope I do as good of job with my kids as you are doing with yours.  And I am oh so happy kalie is going to OU...boomer sooner!  Senior moms can be so insightful to those of us with toddlers!

I didn't count...

but I think I may have done a thousand squats this weekend.  My thighs are killing me...making me think about changing my shooting style (jk).  Who needs a personal trainer when you photograph like I do!

Yes, I am delirious and exhausted...but I have waited 2 years to do a photo like this and had to share.

Busy weekend...

but had to share this image ;-)  As a photographer and a mom of a 2 year old, I know how challenging it can be when trying to get a family shot at this age.  But I have to say...I am loving this image.

 

And then they grow up!

its always funny to be photographing babies one day and then a senior the next.  Although, I LOVE doing both,its nice to have a change once in a while.  Seniors don't need to be changed and feed (well not always the case!) nor do I have to wait for a Senior to stop crying.  But on the flip side, the older you get the more self aware one is, so it is a bit harder to get those great belly button shots ;-) or those super cute/funny looks that only small kids can give.

One day, well actually SEVERAL years from now I will have to watch my little one grow into a man...and I hope that someone can capture those special little quirks, that only I will know!

Chris and Leslie have both made some funny pics with the site called writeonit.org.  So tonight I decided to try it out!

This is Haley and I have photographed her in her mom's belly and when she was a newborn.  But look at her now.  OHHHH...this so inspires me to find my daughter's shots at this age.  IF I do I will post it.  I can remember grace was so chubby we had to run our fingers inside her rolls to get all the "ickies" out!

Only 10%...

of women who are pregnant...DON'T find out what the $ex of the baby.  And since I have been photographing bellies in San Antonio, I have never had a person, NOT know.  SO when Stephanie told me she did not know the gender I couldn't believe it.  There was someone else like me that didn't know the gender and come to find out we had so much more in common.  For instance I had my daughter on May 14th, 2004 and on June 4, 2004 I was married 10 years.  Well, Stephanie and Brent will have been married 9 years!  Also, she is due on May 15th. (well, I had my daughter early...so I can't claim we had the same due date ;-))

Anyways, I had a so much fun that day.  It was like hanging out with my old friends...only that I had just met them that day!  Also, I have to laugh because her husband actually knows more about paper stocks than I do (only creative and art directors might find that ironic. (so I am sure your thinking..."what??? Paper Stocks???? What is that??? and WHY does she know a lot about that?")

Enough babbling and on to the show...

And I wondering?  Is this what Stephanie and Brent look like in all their pictures?? (inside joke)

I am almost finished with sofia's images...and I just wanted to share this one.  She is the cute in the Longhorn bloomers, see I told you she was happy!

extensions, the "d" word and...

a lot of other things on my plate.  I hope many of you are way ahead of me when it comes to filing taxes!  With a busy year and 2 kids...I have royally failed on keeping up with my books...so now I must scour through all my emails to find the link to Turbo Tax to file that extension by tomorrow at midnight.  So instead of writing on my blog I should be finding that email!

Second thing is I might have did a preschool no-no.  And that is where the  the “d” word comes in.  You see devin is finishing up an antibiotic... so his stool is a little, should I say “loose,”  so the school does not want you to bring your child to school if this is the case.   So I am wondering is “antibiotic” caused loose “you know whatee,” count as the “d” word?  Should I have kept him home?  I am going to get labeled as the mom who took her sick kid to school?  BUT, Ms. Becky...he is NOT sick ANYMORE!

Last, I just finished taking the picture of the cutest guy.  He was all of 70 and a half!  And no that is not a typo!  I can’t wait to share...but it will half to wait a bit.  Also, I can't wait to share my week of Men, I mean boys!

Also, what is on my plate?  1st up is Nicole's maternity pics, then ms sofia and baby piper.  If you did not see your name...I have a bigger paper list taped to my desk ;-)

You have to admit...

we all think our kids are the best looking on the planet, but you have to admit...this one is pretty stink'n (as you say in texas!) cute. To meet her and to interact with her, I would have never know that she almost didn't make it after birth.  It's quite a long and tragic story, but I know her parents probably thank god everyday that she made it and she is right on track developmentally. 

Jane and her family have been in San Antonio less than a month...so I am so excited that they found me to do her first truly professional photos!

Sometimes...

well almost always I am chasing after that "perfect" image...when really it is the moments in between that are the most precious. 

This image warms my heart after a day of putting up with the most insane driver(s) I have ever seen.  So, if you are the black SUV that tried to pass me in the median and run me off the road doing it...well...lets try to remember that some drivers have precious cargo in our cars.

My Week of ALL girls!

It just dawned on me as I began to write this post...that this week I photographed all GIRLS.  From 7 days to 8 months to 7 years to 18 years.  Wow, just thinking about it brings a smile to my face. I wish I had time to write about all the odd and peculiar things that have went on this week.  Like my purchase of the scrumptious crab cakes from Sam's or so they looked like on the package, but ended up looking like a lump of something else!  OR how as I sit here and write this I have "happy baby" veggies, boogers, and god knows what on my shirt...(oh how my son won't let me wipe his face, but the minute I am not looking he comes in for the good ol' face wipe on some part of my clothing!)

So I leave you this weekend, with the women of the week!

Dad was such a good sport.  He didn't even flinch when he got pooped and pee'd on!

MOVING ON TO 8 MONTHS...Sofia was happy and so much fun, but WE pushed the limits a bit and by the end of the session, she let us know...SHE WAS DONE!

Against all my better judgment...I am showing LOVE to all you longhorns!

Besides sharpening, this is also SOC.  I had great light and used my 70-200.  It helps I had a great subject!

Yes..I am still up and it is 12:50 a.m.

Why??????????  Because I have an almost 2 year old, who is now in a big boy bed, which means...he can GET OUT!  So as every parenting book says..."don't lay with them...let them put themselves to sleep,"  I lay with my son until he falls asleep and really, I swear it is better than any sleeping pill, because 9 times out of 10...I am the one who falls asleep first!    But on the negative side I will wake up around midnight and then I am up! Isn't it funny how once you go through that "newborn" stage you can get a couple of hours of sleep and then POW>wide awake.

Ok...it is now 1 a.m. and my almost 5 year old just got up to "see what I was doing."  Not sure what that says about our family ;-)

Well back to editing the images of my OBGYN's amazing little newborn...

But I promised to blog some pictures from a shoot I had today.  I don't photograph many 7 year olds...because parents just kind of skip over these years...So I was more than glad when tyler asked me to photograph her daughter.

So real quick note about these images.  I often get questions about whether or not I enhance photos in Photoshop.  The answer is almost always YES. But here are some that are straight out of the camera...  So starting off with a good image is always preferred.  Come back tomorrow (or maybe the next day) and I will re post these images "edited!"
